Russian occupiers shelled the village of Groza in the Kupyansk District of the Kharkiv Oblast. Rockets were aimed at a local shop and cafe. At least 49 people are dead, seven are in serious condition.

The village Groza in the Kupyansk District of the Kharkiv Oblast was tragically struck by Russian military shelling, resulting in a devastating loss of life. At least 49 people, including a 6-year-old child, lost their lives, with seven others sustaining serious injuries. This devastating incident occurred when Russian rockets targeted a local shop and an adjacent cafe where civilians were present.

The head of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration, Oleg Synegubov, along with the Office of the Prosecutor General, confirmed the grim toll of this attack. The shelling took place at 1:15 p.m., and it was clear that the occupiers had targeted a critical infrastructure facility.

Disturbingly, the store had local residents inside, and there was a commemorative gathering at the cafe to remember a deceased village resident. Approximately 60 people were in the vicinity when the attack occurred. Tragically, 49 individuals lost their lives in this horrific event, including an innocent six-year-old girl. Seven others were critically injured and are currently undergoing surgery.

Authorities are investigating the possibility that one of the residents, along with a large group of people, may have inadvertently led the Russians to target this location.

At that moment, 49 people died, including a six-year-old girl. Seven people were seriously injured and are lying on operating tables. The identities of 29 victims were established (...). 330 inhabitants lived in the village. One person from each family, from each yard, was present at the gala dinner - said Klymenko.

The Kupyan District Prosecutor's Office of the Kharkiv region has initiated a pre-trial investigation into this incident, focusing on violations of the laws and customs of war, coupled with intentional murder, as outlined in part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. This tragedy has deeply affected the 330 inhabitants of Groza, as one member from each family and yard was present at the gathering.
