According to the Ukrainian statistical service, by June 16 in the 2022/2023 season, Ukraine exported 47.49 million tons of cereals and legumes, including 2.153 million tons in June.

By June 17, 2022, Ukraine's exports amounted to 47.79 million tons, of which 695,000 in June alone. tone.

In particular, this season Ukraine exported:

  • wheat – 16.314 million tons (816 thousand tons in June);
  • barley – 2.667 million tons (20 thousand tons);
  • oats – 18 thousand tons (0.1 thousand tons);
  • corn – 28.185 million tons (1.314 million tons).

The total export of wheat flour in the 2022/2023 season amounted to 147.3 thousand tonnes (5.1 thousand tonnes in June), including 141.2 thousand tonnes tons of wheat flour (4.5 thousand tons in June).

Sunflower is also being harvested on an area of ​​4.8 million ha (99%) and 10.5 million tons of seeds have been threshed with a yield of 21.7 q/ha. 3.7 million tons of soybeans have already been harvested with a yield of 24.3 q/ha from 1.5 million ha (100%).

The ministry reminds that Ukrainian farmers have already finished harvesting wheat, barley and peas. Thus, 20.2 million tons of wheat were threshed with a yield of 40.5 q/ha from 4.979 million ha (100% of the total sown area), barley – 5.8 million tons with a yield of 34.7 q/ha from 1.7 million ha (100% of the area), peas – 269 thousand  with a yield of 22.8 q/ha from 118 thousand ha (100%).

In addition, rape harvesting was completed on an area of ​​1.1 million ha (100%), and 3.2 million tons of seeds were threshed with a yield of 28.6 q/ha.

In general, farmers from Mykolaiv, Odessa, Bukowina and Vinnytsia regions completed the harvest of all agricultural products. Vineyard agricultural producers threshed 4 million tons of grain. The highest yields of cereals and legumes were recorded among farmers in the Khmelnitsky Oblast and amounted to 70.9 q/ha.

As of January 6, Ukraine has already dug up 9 million tons of sugar beets with a yield of 501 q/ha from 180 000 ha (99%).

The Ministry of Agricultural and Food Policy of Ukraine predicted that, based on the results from 2022, the harvest of cereals and oil seeds would amount to about 67 million tons. 

As a major grain producer and exporter, grain production in Ukraine has fallen to around 53 million tons in calendar year 2022 from a record 86 million tons in 2021.
