Good news from the Dnipro River. Ukrainian Army is moving heavy equipment

Ukrainian forces confirmed the offensive on the Dnipro River.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces are establishing further bridgeheads on the eastern bank of the Dnipro River in the Kherson Oblast. According to Russian military bloggers, Ukrainian troops would be able to capture the northern part of the Velyky Potemkin Island. In addition, they managed to capture a bridgehead located east of Belogrudowo and north of Holei Prystani.

Ukrainian marines are also expanding their bridgehead around the town of Krynki (Kherson Oblast) on the eastern bank of the Dnipro River. Russian sources confirm that the Ukrainians are transporting more armored vehicles across the River there.

Are there hundreds of ZSU soldiers operating across the Dnipro River?

In Wednesday's report, analysts from the Institute for War Studies (ISW) reported on the discussion that took place among Russian military bloggers. It was triggered by a photo which, they claim, shows a Ukrainian amphibious vehicle transporting an infantry fighting vehicle to the left bank of the Dnipro River near the Krynki (30 km from Kherson).

Some of them believe that the Ukrainians transported several unspecified armored vehicles across the Dnipro River. They also claim that a group of about 300 Ukrainian soldiers is operating near Krynki, which is approximately the size of a battalion. According to these reports, fighting is taking place in the area of many towns located 12 km to 17 km east of Kherson.

ISW reminds us that, according to previous assessments, the Ukrainian army attacked the left bank of the Dnipro River on October 17-18 with company-sized forces. The fact that a battalion-sized grouping is being discussed suggests that Russian efforts to isolate the Riverbank have not prevented Ukrainian troops from moving additional men and equipment to positions east of the Dnipro River, analysts say.

The western part of the Kherson Oblast, located on the right (western) bank of the Dnipro River, was recaptured by Ukrainian troops in November 2022. The lands on the left (eastern) side of the River are still under Russian occupation.
