French President Macron reaffirms support for Ukraine against Russian aggression

French President Emmanuel Macron assured Ukraine of continued support in defense against Russia's aggressive war.

“We are not at war with Russia, but it is our duty to prevent it from winning. We cannot allow Russia to believe it can win the war"
he said.

According to Macron, a Russian victory would mean the end of European security.

“That is why we continue to support Ukrainians. To this end, we are training Ukrainian soldiers and providing military equipment for artillery, ground-based air defense, and long-range strikes," said the French president.

He also added that Paris will innovate to meet the challenge of the widespread use of drones. “In this case, France is relying on its defense industry,” Macron said.

He noted that the French defense industry is in combat mode and is able to deliver more and faster than before.

France's military aid to Ukraine

Since the beginning of the full-scale war with Russia, France, along with the USA and Germany, has been one of Ukraine's main allies. Paris provides active financial and military assistance to Kyiv.

Earlier, it became known that France would provide Ukraine with 40 new SCALP missiles and long-range bombs, the number of which was not specified.

In February, French President Emmanuel Macron will visit Kyiv to sign an agreement on the supply of new weapons to Ukraine. Work on the text of the document is in the final stage.
