Farewell to the poet and military man Maxim "Dali" Kryvtsov took place in Kyiv

Today, on January 11, in Kyiv, people bid farewell to the soldier and poet Maksym Kryvtsov, known by the call sign "Dali." He lost his life at the front on January 7. At noon, a soldier's memorial service took place in the Mikhailovsky Zolotoverkh Cathedral, followed by a funeral procession to Independence Square.

Approximately a thousand individuals came to pay their respects to the fallen soldier, including relatives, friends, military personnel, and those who did not personally know Maxim Kryvtsov.

Musician and military man Yurko Yurchenko attended to honor the memory of "Dali," whom he had met in 2015. Yurchenko mentioned that he composed the song "Yellow Scotch" based on a poem by Kryvtsov.

“His poems are very unusual, unlike anyone else's, very deep and broad. As you read them, the imagery comes to life. There are some poems that do not need music; they are self-sufficient. For example, a poem about Bucha that has traveled all over the world,"
Jurko Jurczenko shared.

Military National Guard member Ilya served with Maxim in the same battalion in 2017. While they were not close friends, they had communicated several times. Ilya remembers "Dali" as a remarkably extraordinary and kind person.

Maksym "Dali" Kryvstov will be laid to rest on Friday, January 12, in Rivne.

Kryvtsov volunteered for military service in 2014 and had previously worked at the Center for Rehabilitation and Readaptation of War Participants in Donbas, as well as at the Veterans Center. After the full-scale invasion in February 2022, he rejoined the Armed Forces, continuing to write poems and prose, with an unfinished novel to his credit.

The poetry of Maksym Kryvtsov was featured in the Radio Promin project "The Day That Shouldn't Be".

On January 7, news broke of his passing at the front.

His poetry collection, "Poems from the Pit," sold out within a day, prompting the publishing house "Nash Format" to initiate pre-orders for a new edition set to be released in February.

All proceeds from the sale of current and future editions, as well as electronic copies of the collection, will be donated to the Kryvstov family and the public organization "Reformation" for educational book projects benefiting the army.
