The situation on the frontlines in Ukraine remains highly active and challenging. On October 5, the Ukrainian Armed Forces provided an evening summary of their operations, highlighting various developments:

  • Volhynia Direction: There have been no significant changes in the operational situation, with no apparent signs of offensive actions from any side. However, some units of the Belarusian Armed Forces are active near the Ukrainian border.
  • Siversky and Slobozhansk Directions: The enemy, likely Russian forces, maintain a presence near the border, conducting artillery shelling of civilian areas from Russian territory. They are also increasing mine and explosive barriers along the Ukrainian border. Several settlements have been targeted, including Grabowski, Karpovichi, and others.
  • Kupian Direction: The enemy carried out airstrikes near several settlements, causing damage and affecting civilian areas, including Dvorichna, Synkovka, Pietropavlovka, Ivanivka, Kislivka, and Berestovka in the Kharkiv Oblast.
  • Lyman Direction: Ukrainian Defense Forces successfully repelled Russian attacks east of Makiivka in the Luhansk Oblast. There have been airstrikes near Bilogorivka and Spirny in the Luhansk and Donetsk Oblasts, respectively, causing damage to several settlements.
  • Bakhmut Direction: Ukrainian Defense Forces achieved success east of Andriyivka in Donetsk Oblast and thwarted the enemy's attempts to regain lost positions. Multiple settlements, including Vasyukivka, Orichovo-Vasylivka, Bohdanivka, Predtechine, Dilivka, and Toretsk in Donetsk region, were affected by artillery and mortar fire.
  • Avdiyevka Direction: Ukrainian Defense Forces successfully repelled all Russian attacks in the Avdiyevka area of Donetsk Oblast. Several settlements, including Berdychi, Stepove, Avdiyivka, Tonenka, Severne, and Pervomaiske, were targeted by enemy artillery and mortar attacks.
  • Mariinsky Direction: Ukrainian Defense Forces effectively repelled multiple attacks by the Russian army in the Maryinka and Novomychailovka districts of Donetsk region. Several settlements, including Nevelske, Oleksandropil, Krasnohorivka, Maryinka, Pobyeda, and Novomychailovka, came under fire.
  • Shakhtarsky Direction: Ukrainian Armed Forces successfully repelled Russian attacks in the Zolota Niva and Vodyan settlements in Donetsk region. Several settlements, including Vodyane, Vugledar, Prechistivka, Urozhayne, Staromayorske, and Rivnepol, were impacted by enemy artillery and mortar attacks.
  • Zaporizhia Oblast: Ukrainian Defense Forces successfully defended against Russian attacks southeast of Robotin in Zaporizhia Oblast. The occupiers also conducted raids near Novodarivka and Robotyna in the same region, affecting numerous settlements.
  • Kherson Direction: The enemy carried out airstrikes in various areas, including Berislav, Kozatske, Odradokamyanka, and Mykolaivka in the Kherson region. Several settlements, such as Hawrylivka, Chervyn Majak, Olhivka, Poniatywka, Kherson, Shiroka Balka in the Kherson Oblast, and Ochakiv in the Mykolaiv Oblast, were shelled by Russian artillery and mortar fire.

The Ukrainian Defense Forces continue their offensive operations towards Melitopol and assault operations towards Bakhmut. They report causing losses in enemy personnel and equipment, as well as maintaining pressure along the entire front line. Ukrainian aviation conducted airstrikes on enemy concentrations, weapons, military equipment, and anti-aircraft missile systems.

Rocket force units targeted various enemy assets, including a communication hub, an anti-aircraft missile complex, heavy flamethrowers, artillery guns, and an electronic warfare station of the Russian army.
