Davos spotlight: Ukraines E-Government excellence and call for Global investment

Penny Pritzker, the US Special Representative for Ukraine's Economic Recovery

Penny Pritzker, the US Special Representative for Ukraine's Economic Recovery, declared that Ukraine possesses the best e-government system globally. She made this assertion on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, during a panel discussion on the reconstruction of Ukraine.

“In my opinion, the Ukrainian government has the best e-government system globally, surpassing even Estonia,” remarked Pritzker.

Addressing the Ukraine reconstruction project, she highlighted Ukraine's numerous advantages, such as a highly qualified workforce, robust state potential, societal readiness, and a steadfast path toward the EU and NATO.

“This combination is exceptionally effective for recovery. When you add the world's richest soil, capable of feeding the world, and the availability of affordable IT specialists, the situation becomes uniquely attractive"
added the US representative.

However, Pritzker acknowledged the ongoing challenge of the war, emphasizing the urgency of commencing reconstruction efforts.

In Davos, Zelensky invited big business to invest in and rebuild Ukraine

During the Davos meeting, President Volodymyr Zelensky invited representatives from prominent businesses to invest in Ukraine and participate in its reconstruction, according to the press service of the head of state.

Notably, as part of the annual World Economic Forum meeting in Davos, Zelensky participated in the "Heads of Big Business - Ukraine" meeting, where he shared information "about the economic growth of our country, exceeding 5% in 2023, and optimistic forecasts for GDP growth this year".

Zelensky emphasized that Ukraine had restored export opportunities by establishing a "grain corridor" independent of Russia, allowing the transportation of various goods in addition to grain.

Moreover, Zelensky underscored the Ukrainian government's substantial efforts to protect against Russian air threats and highlighted the special potential and prospects in military production. He particularly stressed the importance of collaboration with leading Western defense companies.

In expressing gratitude for support, Zelensky urged business representatives to invest in Ukraine and contribute to its reconstruction.

“It is important that you stand with us. Your support, increased investments in Ukraine, and assistance in strengthening our economy are crucial", Zelensky concluded.
