Joe Biden

In his annual State of the Union address, US President Joe Biden announced that America will not withdraw its support for Ukraine. Biden sharply criticized Donald Trump for his willingness to abandon NATO allies, calling the former president's statements dangerous.

During his address to the joint session of Congress, Joe Biden said that by invading Ukraine, Russia is sowing chaos throughout Europe and beyond. - If anyone thinks Putin will stop at Ukraine, I assure you it won't happen. But Ukraine can stop Putin. If we stand with Ukraine and provide the necessary weapons for defense. That's all Ukraine asks for. They're not asking for American soldiers. There are no American soldiers at war in Ukraine, and I am determined to keep it that way - he said.

Joe Biden on Donald Trump: Bowing to the Russian leader

Joe Biden added that support for Ukraine is being blocked by those who want the USA to relinquish its role as a global leader. He pointed, among others, to Donald Trump. - Republican President Ronald Reagan thundered: Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall. Now my predecessor tells Putin: do as you please (...). The former president bows to the Russian leader. I find it outrageous, dangerous, and unacceptable - he said. Biden called on Congress to pass a law supporting Ukraine. - My message to President Putin, whom I have known for a long time, is simple. We will not back down, we will not bend - he said.

In his over an hour-long address, the president also said that Donald Trump wants to take America back to the past. - My fellow Americans, the problem with our nation is not how old we are. It's about how old the ideas are. Hatred, anger, revenge, retaliation are ideas of the past - he declared.

Biden argued that he has a program for the future, where the middle class has equal opportunities, women have the right to choose, and America remains an open and democratic country.

"A larger toll among civilians than all previous wars in Gaza combined" Then the President of the United States spoke about Israel's war with Hamas. - This war has taken a larger toll among innocent civilians than all previous wars in Gaza combined - he said.

- I have directed the US military to conduct a mission to establish a temporary bridgehead in the Mediterranean Sea off the coast of Gaza, which will be able to accommodate large ships with food, water, medicine, and temporary shelter - he said.

The American president assessed that after the expansion to Finland and Sweden, NATO is the strongest in history. Prime Minister of Finland Ulf Kristersson listened to Biden's speeches in the president's guest box.
