A Russian missile flew through the Nikopol area: where to report enemy targets

On January 1, around 5 p.m., a Russian cruise missile headed towards the Dnieper River. It was flying through the Nikopol district when air defense forces successfully shot it down in the nearby Dnieper area.

This information was reported by the Informant, citing a statement from the head of Nikopol RVA, Yevhen Yevtushenko.

The enemy's weapons are flying at lower altitudes, likely to evade radar detection and constantly searching for safe corridors. Only 5 minutes elapsed from the warning to the eventual "arrival" of the missile. This emphasizes the crucial role of people's messages, as stated by Yevtushenko. They enable the timely detection and elimination of low-flying threats.

In our interview with Directly Gachi, Gachi says that the idea of ​​​​creating the canal was born at the end of July 2022, when Energodar began to be shelled by Russian troops. Initially, the channel was an ordinary chat for communication for local residents, but soon became an important source of information about the situation in the region.

Gachi's role and mission

How did the idea to create the Directly Gachi Telegram channel come about, and what is your main mission?

Answer: The idea was born at the end of July 2022. Then, instead of a channel, there was a regular chat for communication between Energodars. When the shelling began, within a few days departures began to be posted in the same chat, then they were moved separately to the channel so as not to clog the chat, and thus the "Directly Gachi" channel was opened.

How do you define your role in the context of conflict and how does it differ from other sources of information?

Answer: People on both sides of the reservoir participate in it, and the Dnipro, Zaporizhia and Kherson oblasts communicate with each other. These people are in the channel, they share information, they create an information community in which we provide information about what is happening in the territory of Ukraine and in the temporarily occupied territory. In this respect, we have the opportunity to write information that other channels do not have. We communicate with Nikopol RVA, with representatives of local government bodies.

How do you collect and verify information about shelling and other military actions?

Answer: We collect information by communicating with a large number of people using a chatbot connected to the feedback channel or through personal messages from the head of Nikopol RVA Yevhen Yevtushenko. There are rules for using this bot (indicated in the channel anchor). The anonymity and safety of our people is paramount. The relevant services verify the information.

On the same day, January 1, the enemy attacked Nikopol and the commune of Myrivsk, employing artillery and operating seven kamikaze drones. Another attack targeted Kryvorozha in the Zelenodolsk commune, resulting in damaged power lines and internet connections. Fortunately, there were no casualties.
