While you were celebrating, Mechnikov's doctors fought for the life of a 20-year-old boy all New Year's holidays. He was admitted to the hospital with a soft tissue hematoma of the neck, a foreign body on the anterior surface, a right-sided pneumothorax, and a large fragment in the carotid artery.

The situation was critical. Without examination and surgery on an angiogram, there was no chance. Interventions of such complexity were successfully performed at the endovascular center of Mechnikov Hospital.
