This was announced by the deputy head of the Office of the President Kyrylo Tymoshenko at a briefing in Kyiv. This is reported by Informator Ukraine. Tymoshenko did not name the exact place where the helicopter was headed. But apparently, the target was the Chernihiv region. Namely, the border area of Ukraine with Belarus, where joint training of Russian aggressors and their Belarusian guides is currently taking place.

As it became known earlier, on the morning of January 18, the helicopter of the State Emergency Service Super Puma, on board of which the leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs was on board, had an accident over Brovary, falling near a kindergarten. According to eyewitnesses quoted by TV channels, the helicopter made three circles over the city, then headed towards the center, starting to descend sharply. Then it hit and burst into flames. Pilot error is among the possible causes of the crash. But this reason is not the only one that will be considered by the investigation.

The accident reportedly killed 16 people, including two children. According to Anton Herashchenko, all those on board the helicopter were killed. Including:

  • Head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Denys Monastyrskyi,
  • Yevhen Yenin, First Deputy Head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs,
  • Yuriy Lubkovich, State Secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

More than 22 people were hospitalized after the disaster in Brovary. Among them are 10 children.
