“They could make history.“ Moving words of the President of Ukraine about children who became victims of Russian aggression

“There are already at least 500 of our children on the list of innocent child victims of Russian aggression” Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Sunday via Telegram. He listed the names and ages of several of the children killed, one of whom was only two days old.

“They could have been famous scientists, artists, sports champions and created the history of Ukraine” President Zelensky noted.

He continued that his country must “endure and win the war” and Ukrainians “should be free from the terror of Russia.”

Zelensky's comment was published after reports from the Dnepropetrovsk region in central Ukraine about the shelling that killed a two-year-old girl. A Russian shell hit a residential house. More than 20 people, including five children, are injured.

As a result of Saturday's shelling, a two-story building partially collapsed, 10 private houses, a shop, and a gas pipeline were also damaged.

“It was Russia that killed those children”

On Wednesday, May 31, on the eve of International Children's Day, Volodymyr Zelensky stressed that Russia is taking away the most important right from Ukrainian children – the right to life.

He said that it should not be said that these children became victims of Russian aggression or armed conflict. “It was Russia that killed these children” Zelensky pointed out.

Resettlements

Moreover, the Ukrainian authorities are alarming that Russia is still transporting Ukrainian minors from the occupied territories. A large part of them is denationalised. According to official data documented by Ukraine, the Russians deported over 16,000 children.

In March, the International Criminal Court in The Hague issued an arrest warrant for Vladimir Putin for organizing the operation.
