“There were five wounds, a fracture and a serious injury.” The story of a 19-year-old National Guard soldier about fighting in the East

"I am 19 years old, but I am ready to carry out combat orders"

Military under the pseudonym "Bojok" - one of those who, as a conscript soldier, faced a full-scale invasion. He is 19 years old.

He is a marksman of the patrol battalion of the 5th Slobozhan Brigade. He had a noticeable scar on his forehead after the fight.

The National Guard of Ukraine told about his journey.

The boy began serving in the fall of 2021 and was to be demobilized in the spring of 2022. The full-scale war began when he was 18 years old. He remembers the developments well.

“On February 23, I was on duty immediately after going to bed, but a state of combat was immediately announced. We received weapons and ammunition. Initially, we were at the headquarters, but at the beginning of March our unit was deported to Cherkassk Lozov. They just started digging, and he started working for us.” Wasylyok.” We were told that the occupiers were one and a half kilometers away from us. We dug trenches, dug in and set up lines,” Boyok says.

Initially, his unit was located in Piatykachatki, and then in Ruska Lozowa. In May 2022, he took part in the liberation of several villages in the Dergiczov district. Together with a unit of Krakens, they attacked the breeding and then freed the Passages.

"Unfortunately, the losses were enormous," says the National Guard sadly.

And from there, together with his brothers, he got to Dementiovka. They say it was terrible there because of the swampy terrain and the fact that there were rarely any forest strips there. Moreover, sabotage and reconnaissance groups tried to get there.

Then the positions were stormed by the Russian army. Bojok remembers holding a sector with two machine guns while the infantry closed in on them. He says he fired all the ammunition from his grenade launcher at the enemy and started firing his machine gun.

“I shelled one shop, started to put another one in, but then a mortar mine hit the railing of the trench right in front of me. The last thing I saw was the sky, which was dark, and suddenly it turned white," the boy says.

He emphasizes that although his ears were ringing, he had a concussion and his mouth was bleeding, he was not afraid. After examining himself, he found several injuries.

“My helmet saved me, but the shrapnel penetrated the Kevlar and entered my forehead. I tried to pull it out - it didn't work. I was evacuated, I had 5 wounds, a fracture of my maxillary sinuses and severe acubarotrauma - recalls the fighter.

He was then treated in hospital, and the military hospital commission found him physically fit. Despite serving in a patrol battalion, he wants to carry out combat orders.

After the end of the war, the boy wants to become a biology teacher.

Our hero has seen almost nothing in his life, but he will never forget the smoke-filled sky of the Slobozhansk region. After the war, the boy dreams of graduating from university and becoming a biology teacher. We know that despite his young age, our Hero is a role model for others and a man with a capital letter who defends his country against the occupier.
