The Russians are preparing a provocation related to chemical weapons

The intercepted conversations of the Russians prove that they are preparing a provocation regarding chemical weapons, the Ukrainian military intelligence alarms. Its result is to be casualties among Russian troops. The Ukrainian Military Intelligence (HUR) reported on Saturday that the purpose of these actions – according to the HUR - would be to shift responsibility to the Ukrainian side.

“Possible drop of chemical weapons”

The interview refers to dialogues between the Russians that were intercepted in the Zaporizhia region in southern Ukraine. 

In the recordings published by HUR on Telegram, there is talk of a “possible chemical weapons drop”. Intelligence warned that the provocation would result in casualties among Russian troops, and the Russians would use the traces of such a chemical attack as false evidence against Ukraine. “Ukraine does not use chemical weapons!” — assured HUR.

On Friday, HUR warned against a possible Russian provocation on the territory of the occupied Zaporozhian Nuclear Power Plant. It would consist in imitating a failure and shifting responsibility for the alleged attack on the nuclear power plant to Ukraine. According to intelligence, the purpose of this operation would be to provoke the international community to carry out a thorough investigation, during which all combat activities would be halted. In this way, the Russians could strengthen their troops before the expected Ukrainian counter-offensive.
