On the night of Monday to Tuesday, 12 Iranian-made Shahed drones were detected and destroyed in Kiev's airspace. There were many explosions in the capital of Ukraine on Monday evening.
The destruction of the drones was reported on Telegram by the head of the city's military defense, Serhiy Popko.
"Update on the Shahed attack on the capital. A total of 12 enemy drones of this type have been detected and destroyed by all air defense forces in the Kiev region!" Popko wrote.
There were many explosions in Kiev on Monday evening, according to the mayor of the city, Vitali Klitschko. A shop in the west of the city caught fire, but there were no immediate reports of casualties. Kiev's air defense said it had shot down all the drones involved in the explosion.
According to the Ukrainian Air Force Command, on the night of Monday to Tuesday, Russia attacked Ukraine with Shahed attack drones and guided aerial bombs.
The Shahed attack was made from the north and southeast. The occupier's Su-35 fighters took off from the airport in Morozovsk in the Rostov region and with the help of two guided bombs attacked the Kherson area.
The forces and means of the Air Force and air defense systems destroyed 13 air targets: 12 Iranian-made Shahed-136/131 attack drones and one “Granat-4” reconnaissance UAV, the air force command reported.
There is no information about the effects of the bomb attack on the Kherson area.
At least two people were killed in a Russian missile attack on the eastern city of Sloviansk on Monday, the region's governor said. The attack left 29 others injured, Pavlo Kyrylenko said, adding that many skyscrapers and offices were damaged or destroyed.
