In the Iranian Shahed were discovered spare parts from Ukraines partner countries

“We disassembled them and unfortunately found parts that are not produced either in Iran or in Russia”

The results of the tests of the downed Iranian kamikaze drones showed that the shahedahs contained parts from countries that are allies of Ukraine. Oleksiy Danilov, secretary of the NSDC, does not rule out that the spare parts were purchased even before the start of the full-scale invasion of Russia.

Details from Ukraine's ally countries were found in the Iranian “Shaheds” that the Russian Federation uses to attack Ukrainian territories.

Spare parts from Ukraine's allies were found in Iranian drones. What about sanctions?

The information was announced on the air of the telethon “Edyny Novy” by the secretary of the National Security Council, Oleksiy Danilov.

“We disassembled them and unfortunately found parts that are not produced either in Iran or in Russia” - Danilov said.

However, the NSDC secretary suggested that spare parts could have been obtained even before the full-scale invasion began, as the drones were mostly produced in 2019-2021. At the same time, Danilov noted that it is necessary to understand how Western spare parts end up in the Russian Federation, despite the sanctions.

According to NYT, despite the sanctions, aircraft parts produced by American Boeing and French Airbus ended up in Russian companies. The recipients were Russian-sanctioned airlines “Russia”, “Aeroflot”, “Ural Airlines”, S7 Airlines, “Utair” and “Pobeda Airlines”.

The data records more than 5,000 separate shipments of aircraft parts to Russia over the eight months of 2022: from simple propellers to an aircraft engine starter from US defense company Honeywell worth $290,000.

In total, US-made aircraft parts worth a total of $14.4 million were shipped to Russia over eight months, of which $8.9 million were Boeing-branded parts sold to Russia through third parties. Last year, aircraft parts from the EU, in particular with Airbus markings, also arrived in Russia.

These shipments are made possible by illegal networks of companies that have sprung up to circumvent the restrictions through a number of top buyers, often in the Middle East and Asia. Most of the goods were delivered by countries such as the United Arab Emirates, Turkey, China and the Maldives. But several batches were shipped directly from the US or Europe.
