"Fires were lit right next to the houses to cook food" - Energodar

As of October 9, Energodar is still without electricity and water. Regular shelling prevents quick emergency and restoration work. Accordingly, for the third day already, people are deprived of the opportunity to prepare food. Last night, townspeople built bonfires right next to their houses to provide themselves with at least some hot food or drinks. This was announced by the mayor of Energodar Dmytro Orlov.

One must be extremely careful when collecting dry branches for bonfires — plantings and the forest area can be mined by the occupiers, the mayor warns.

Currently, the situation with drinking water is worsening. Especially for those townspeople who did not have time to stock up or have already used them. The occupiers and collaborators with the "authority" are not concerned with this problem, since they mostly provided themselves with generators, the report says. But people are having a hard time.

"We repeatedly tried to deliver humanitarian cargo with food, hygiene products, etc. to Energodar. We are ready to organize prompt delivery and distribution of drinking water in Energodar, which is now extremely necessary," - the mayor writes.

He notes that the occupiers have not let all humanitarian goods from the territories controlled by Ukraine into the city for a long time. For their part, they are obviously unable to solve this problem. There was no information about the organization of drinking water and hot food distribution points in the microdistricts of the city.
