Ukrainian drones attacked Crimea

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, Ukrainians carried out a drone attack on Crimea at night. 20 unmanned aerial vehicles were to appear over the peninsula. Earlier, it was reported that the occupiers had closed the Crimean Bridge.

On the night of August 12, Russian propagandists announced the closure and resumption of traffic on the Crimean Bridge, "Ukrainska Pravda" reported, citing Russian media reports.

The occupants reported that traffic on the bridge was temporarily blocked, but did not disclose the reason. Even before dawn, vehicles could move along it again.

According to the Crimean Wind channel on Telegram, flashes and explosions were seen. Residents reported that drones flew over the Crimea for 40 minutes and the air defense system could be heard.

The Russians stopped the attack

Later, these reports were confirmed by the Russian media, which referred to the Ministry of Defense. According to published information, the Ukrainians attacked with drones.

According to the Kremlin, the air defense system was supposed to shoot down 14 UAVs. Another six were to be rendered harmless by electronic warfare systems. The greatest activity was to be recorded over the town of Novozernoye, where a military warehouse base is located.

A frequent target of attacks

Crimea, occupied since 2014, is often the target of attacks. Their main point is the Crimean Bridge. Its damage each time is associated with problems with Russian supplies.

The liberation of the peninsula is one of the main tasks that Kyiv has set for the Ukrainian army in the long term.

However, the Ukrainians attack not only the occupied territories. Attacks on targets within the Russian Federation itself are becoming more frequent. Drones arrive, e.g. to Moscow.
