Dmitry Medvedev threatens to bomb the International Criminal Court

"The decision of the International Criminal Court to order the arrest of Vladimir Putin marks the collapse of the rule of law," former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev wrote on social media, referring to the arrest warrant issued on Friday for the Russian leader. According to him, the main flaw of the international law system is its inefficiency. "The states do not want to comply with the partisan acts of the UN General Assembly, they want to veto the decisions of the UN Security Council, they want to leave various UN institutions. The reason is their injustice, which is based on the inadmissibility of coercion by a group of sovereign states against such sovereign states," Medvedev wrote.

"By the way, the most compromised episode that killed the court's near-zero credibility was related to US crimes in Afghanistan and Iraq," he added.

Arrest warrant for Vladimir Putin

The International Criminal Court in The Hague issued an arrest warrant for Vladimir Putin on Friday. The leader of Russia has been accused of being responsible for war crimes in Ukraine.

The judges found Vladimir Putin guilty of war crimes involving the unlawful deportation of people - including children - and the illegal transfer of people - including children - from the occupied areas of Ukraine to Russia.

"There are reasonable grounds to believe that Vladimir Putin bears individual criminal responsibility for the above-mentioned crimes, committed directly, jointly with other persons and/or through other persons," reads the justification of the International Criminal Court in The Hague.
