A Polish volunteer who was traveling with humanitarian aid to Ukraine died in Kyiv. Marek died from wounds sustained during the shelling of the Russians.
“Today we received news we never wanted to hear: our friend Marek, a volunteer providing humanitarian aid in Ukraine, died in hospital as a result of his wounds,” the Nehemiasz Initiative reported on social media.
The Polish volunteer has been helping Ukraine since autumn 2022. He traveled, among others, to Irpin, Fastov, Zaporozhye and Donetsk.
The aid initiative also showed that Marek was well-prepared to work in a war zone. “He took part in a specialized training carried out by the American Foundation for volunteers leaving for frontline areas” – we read in the entry.

The volunteer was wounded on March 16 in the shelling on the Konstantynówka - Czasiw Jar route. Ukrainian doctors fought for his life in several, hours-long operations.
